Prairie Dog Lands in America, Launches NEW “Cake Towels”

They Look Good Enough to Eat

IRVINE, CA, August 25, 2008. Is it a cup cake, a parfait or an entire window of bakery goods? No. They are the Le Patissier line of ‘cake towels’ recently introduced to the United States by Prairie Dog America, Inc., a textile and interior furnishings company based in Irvine, California.

As beautiful as they are useful, the Le Patissier line of towels are made of 100% all-natural cotton, and created by designer Tadayoshi Iwaki. Prairie Dog America, Inc., is a subsidiary of Osaka, Japan-based Prairie Dog Co. Ltd., which manufactures and distributes various textiles to clients around the world. However, the Le Patissier cake towels by Prairie Dog Co. Ltd. are available for the first time in the United States.

Prairie Dog America, Inc., opened its office in Irvine after the Le Patissier line of towels received a significant response from gift retail storeowners during a debut appearance at an exhibition held late in 2007 on the East Coast.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the positive response we received when we first showed the cake towels to America last year,” said Yoshiyuki Matsuoka, president of Prairie Dog Co., Ltd. “So we decided to open a U.S.-based office to begin offering Le Patissier to gift stores, sales representatives, hotels, corporations and consumers throughout the country.”

The towels were recently displayed at the AmericasMart exhibition in Atlanta, July 11 – 15, and the California Gift Show in Los Angeles, July 18 – 21, they will be displayed at the following upcoming events:

The ASD/AMD Las Vegas Gift Show
August 10 – 13, Las Vegas, Nevada

New York International Gift Fair
August 16 – 21, New York City, NY

Spa Economics & Metrics: Do you really know how your spa is doing?

By Judith L. Singer, Ed.D., ISHC, President & Co-Owner, Health Fitness Dynamics, Inc. (HFD)

While the supply of spas has been on a steady rise for many years, the growth has slowed and this is probably good because there are some challenges that need to be addressed... The supply has out-paced the demand, the labor pool from management to service providers is quite limited, and there isn’t enough reliable economic information. These may be “symptoms” that need further examination in order to address any “health” issues that could impinge on the well-being of our industry...

The ‘weight’ of the wait in the world of service delivery should not be underweight or overweight...
