Windjammer Starts on 42 New Suites

ST. LUCIA, August 22, 2008. Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in St. Lucia has announced the creation of 42 new luxurious Anthurium Lily Junior Suites with ocean views to be added to the upscale property by December 2008

Philippa Rouseau Design, an interior design group with resort property expertise in the U.S. and the Caribbean, has been retained for the new upscale suites' design. The 1,100 square foot junior suites will feature Romeo & Juliet balconies. Several will have an additional private sundeck on the roof.

"We are extremely pleased with the recent addition of our 12 new expansive Hibiscus Suites and have decided to convert Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort's Ocean View rooms to 42 Anthurium Lily Junior Suites. Our property's upgrade to all suites and villas exemplifies the resort's commitment to provide the ultimate in luxury to our guests and to continue the resort's reputation as a premiere Caribbean vacation destination," stated Anthony Bowen, Windjammer Landing managing director.

The new suites, perfect for honeymooners, will boast four-post mahogany queen size beds that will be draped with mosquito netting. The design of the room will be plantation style, but with a clean contemporary twist mixing natural materials such as sea grass and woven cane with hard mahogany wood. Amenities will include 27" plasma TVs, vessel sinks that are locally designed by a St. Lucian artist and whose design will be replicated in the shower walls (each scene will vary by suite), romantic rain-head showers and Kohler fixtures. The color scheme will reflect the tropics of St. Lucia with bursts of bright colors utilizing juicy orange, deep navy blue as well as calming cremes and whites.

By Judith L. Singer, Ed.D., ISHC, President & Co-Owner, Health Fitness Dynamics, Inc. (HFD)

While the supply of spas has been on a steady rise for many years, the growth has slowed and this is probably good because there are some challenges that need to be addressed... The supply has out-paced the demand, the labor pool from management to service providers is quite limited, and there isn’t enough reliable economic information. These may be “symptoms” that need further examination in order to address any “health” issues that could impinge on the well-being of our industry...

By Roberta Nedry, President, Hospitality Excellence, Inc.

How many times does the guest feel like they are the one waiting versus the wait staff waiting on them? What are the timing issues that make or break a service encounter? How does timing impact the overall guest experience as a service factor? Consider making time to analyze ‘time’ with employees who have “time” with guests. The ‘weight’ of the wait in the world of service delivery should not be underweight or overweight...
