IHG Announces Crowne Plaza Mazatlán Complex to Open in December

AUGUST 27, 2008. IHG (International Hotels Group), the largest hotel group in the world, announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Mazatlán for December of the present year, 2008.

The Crowne Plaza Mazatlán is the first hotel that will open on the large Marina Mazatlán complex, the largest integrated tourist community of the Mexican Pacific. The surface of the complex covers 600 hectares and contains a golf course of 18 holes, marina for 1,000 watercrafts, commercial centers, offices and residential zones with houses and condominiums.

The commercial value of the complex once completed is estimated at more than 20 million dollars. The investors in the complex, including the ICD Sitra Company, are from Sinaloa and other parts of the country, and have ample experience in the development of hotel complexes. All of whom, additionally, have complete confidence in Mexico, in the Mazatlán port, and especially in the Marina Mazatlán, a project that has been intricately planned with the highest quality, intelligence and great commercial force.

This new complex will stimulate the economy of Sinaloa, creating 300 direct jobs upon completion of the two stages. Additionally, the project will create 1,200 indirect and 1,000 direct positions during construction, participating in this manner in the commitment that tourism will be a national priority.
